They have a spine by design. They won't just flatter you, hedge, or tell you what you want to hear - they're built as characters, not yes-men.

ComfyAI's AI characters are designed as distinct personas — entities, not generic assistants. You shape who they are when you make them — sharp, gentle, lecture-y, whatever — and they answer from that point of view.
Ask a sparring partner to flatter you, and they probably won't. They're not built to agree by reflex, hedge for comfort, or tell you what you want to hear. That's the feature, not a rough edge we're sanding off.

Primary chat storage stays in Austria, on hardware we own, under EU jurisdiction. We don't sell your data or use your chats to train our models.

What is ComfyAI?
ComfyAI is free AI chat online — built to skip empty flattery, endless hedging, and goldfish memory. Guest chat works right away. Sign up for AI chat with memory, AI characters with a point of view, and the rest of the product.
What stage is ComfyAI at?
Alpha. ComfyAI launched in March 2026. The chat works and is used daily, but features are still being added and some parts can change or break while the product matures. If something feels off, Discord and in-app feedback reach us directly.
Can I use ComfyAI without login?
Yes. You can start normal AI chat without login. Create a free account when you want account-backed chat history, settings, and memory.
Does ComfyAI have AI chat with memory?
Yes. ComfyAI supports AI chat with memory for signed-in users. With memory enabled, useful context can carry across longer conversations.

Where is my data?
ComfyAI is private AI chat. Your primary chat storage is in Austria, on hardware we own, under EU jurisdiction. We don't sell your data, and we don't train on your chats. Optional features like web search, BYOK providers, or experimental routes can process selected prompts, queries, or attachments outside that primary setup; route differences are labeled in the product. What models do you use?
Base chat currently uses our 35B and 122B models. They are configured by us and run on our own hardware in Austria. Bigger or experimental models can appear in the model menu with their own limits, labels, and availability.
What won't ComfyAI do?
A short list, and it doesn't bend: no content sexualizing minors, no impersonating real identifiable people without consent, nothing that facilitates harm, or encourages self-harm, and no malware, fraud, spam, hate, harassment, illegal activity, or bypassing security measures. ComfyAI can refuse unsafe requests and may show safety notices, but it is not an emergency service. If you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or a crisis hotline.
Can characters say no?
Yes. Characters are built as distinct personas, not generic assistants. Ask a sparring partner to flatter you, and they probably won't. You shape their style when you create them, and they can push back when that fits the character and the conversation.
Can I create AI characters with memory?
Yes. Signed-in users can create AI characters with memory for writing, planning, dialogue practice, scenes, and longer conversations.
Is this for adults?
Yes. ComfyAI is for 18+ users. Use still has to follow our Terms, safety rules, and applicable law.
Is ComfyAI connected to ComfyUI, ComfyAI.run, or similar sites?
No. ComfyAI is the AI chat product at comfyai.de. It is not an image-generation workflow tool and is not affiliated with ComfyUI, ComfyAI.run, RunComfy, or similarly named services. If something feels confusing, missing, or worth building, tell us on Discord or from inside the app. We actually read it.
Is ComfyAI a ChatGPT alternative?
ComfyAI can be used as a ChatGPT alternative if you want free AI chat online, persistent memory, private AI chat, and AI characters. ComfyAI is independent and not affiliated with OpenAI or ChatGPT.
